Jack Marino

Posted by Chandler On January - 10 - 2009 1 COMMENT

Tonight’s guest is Jack Marino, a patriotic, independent film maker, who financed and shot his own pro-Vietnam war movie.

Being one of less than a handful of positive Vietnam war films, Forgotten Heroes, brings the realism of war and courage to the big screen in honor of those who served.

Profit from the sale of Forgotten Heroes DVDs goes to The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.  Please support our brother and sister vets by ordering your copy of this truly patriotic movie.  Lord knows, there are not enough of them.

You can learn more about Jack Marino and Forgotten Heroes here.  Forgotten Heroes is also on MySpace and YouTube.

Robert Davi

Posted by Chandler On November - 22 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Robert Davi appeared on the November 22nd show to talk about his new film “The Dukes” which he directed and starred in.  The film has won many awards and some really incredible actors in it.  It is one of the ‘feel good’ films of this year.  We were very proud to have Mr. Davi on the show.

This is Mr. Davi’s bio:

From his portrayal of James Bond villain Franz Sanchez to FBI profiler Bailey Malone in “Profiler” (1996), Robert Davi is one of the film industry’s most recognized tough guys, whether on the big screen or on television. His tough exterior masks a powerful inner sensitivity, which he calls upon for his most notorious roles. A stickler for research, Davi contacted Quantico and arranged to meet Bill Hagenmeyer, the real-life FBI profiler. Davi received critical acclaim within the industry for his provocative and smoldering portrayal of Bailey Malone. The show, currently in syndication, struck a chord with audiences, paving the way for such shows as “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2000), “Without a Trace” (2002), “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2001) and many others.

His work as a Palestinian terrorist Salim Ajami in an award-winning TV movie brought him critical acclaim and caught the eye of legendary James Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli, who cast Davi as Colombian drug lord and lead villain Franz Sanchez in the Bond film Licence to Kill (1989). Davi studied with the legendary Stella Adler, who became his mentor, and he was also a member of the Actors Studio, where he studied with Lee Strasberg. His big break came when he was cast opposite Frank Sinatra in the telefilm Contract on Cherry Street (1977) (TV), and he has gone on to work in projects with Marlon Brando, Roberto Benigni, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Benicio Del Toro, Danny Glover and Adam Sandler, to name a few.

Among his many notable film credits are Die Hard (1988), The Goonies (1985), Son of the Pink Panther (1993), Licence to Kill (1989), Raw Deal (1986) and Showgirls (1995). He has worked with such directors as Steven Spielberg, Richard Donner, Blake Edwards, John McTiernan and Paul Verhoeven, among others. He is equally adept at comedy, also, as is evident by his work in a Rodney Dangerfield romantic comedy, as a con artist (once again a very funny and believable character), and he can be seen in the Rob Schneider/Adam Sandler comedy The Hot Chick (2002). He recently produced and is starring in Hitters (2002), a film that takes a realistic look at the struggles that occur within a neighborhood mob crew.

Besides working and raising his five children, Davi stays busy volunteering his time in such charities such as The Dream Foundation, Exceptional Children’s Foundation, Heart Of A Child Foundation, The National Italian-American Foundation, Unico, and he is the national spokesperson for I Save America.

Rep. Charles Boustany, Jr.

Posted by Chandler On November - 8 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Rep. Boustany appeared on the Marine Corps Birthday show on November 8th, 2008.  We talked with the Congressman about legislation that he co-authored called the Military Fallen Heroes Protection Act of 2006, or H.R. 5772 in the 109th Congress.  The legislation passed the Senate, but died in committee in the House.

We asked if the legislation would be revived in this upcoming Congress because several Gold Star families have been battling anti-war displays that have been using the fallen soldiers names for anti-war propaganda.

Jennifer Hughes

Posted by Chandler On October - 11 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Jennifer Hughes is a former Marine that received an unsolicited cell phone call from an Obama campaign volunteer. Jennifer expressed to the volunteer that she would not be voting for Obama because of his stance on providing medical attention to infants born alive after a botched abortion. Four times, Jennifer told the volunteer, Barak Obama has voted in the Illinios State Senate to deny medical attention to infants. For this reason alone, Jennifer Hughes, could not in good conscience vote for Barak Obama.

23 hours later, Jennifer received a visit by the Secret Service. They claimed that some in the Obama campaign had made a report that she had threatened the life of Barak Obama. She explained to the officers exactly what she had said.

Jennifer appeared on the October 11th, 2008 show talk about her incident with the Secret Service.

Klay South

Posted by Chandler On August - 30 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Sgt. Klay “Dirty South” led his fire team on a house clearing operation. Klay was shot in the face and took numerous hits from a high velocity AK47 assault weapon. One bullet penetrated the right side of his face, taking out 18 teeth and shattering portions of his upper and lower jaw. The inside of his mouth was destroyed, and he wasn’t expected to survive. He also suffered foot injuries, but those seemed minor at the time. Out of this tragedy Klay decided to devote his life to making life better for wounded veterans by establishing Veterans of Valor.

22807-janet-clayVeterans of Valor was launched from the heart and experience of Cpl. Klay South after he was critically wounded November 11, 2004, during a spearhead into Fallujah, Iraq. While experiencing a lengthy recovery process of multiple surgeries, treatments, and therapies, Klay discovered that a minute could seem like an hour. Anticipating painful treatments and therapies only added to the anxiety of the whole new world of emotional turmoil, but he discovered that personal therapy through music, audio books, and PlayStation Portable® devices (PSPs) made the treatments and therapies less stressful.

You can support Klay in his efforts to comfort the wounded by donating to or sponsoring a hero for Operation 24/7.
