Not long after the murder of three of Jennifer Hudson’s family members Chicago’s Mayor Richard Daley said “When you have someone with access to a gun it shows you what they will do.”

No Mr. Mayor your statement is blatantly inaccurate!  There are tens of thousands of gun owners in the state of Illinois who own, possess and use guns everyday without committing crimes.  What you probably should have said is “When you have someone with no regard to following the law, with access to an illegal gun it shows you what they will do.”  That makes more sense.  One could even make the case that this incident is the quintessential example of why gun laws do not work!  One could also point out that if the family had ready access to a firearm Julian King may still be alive!
William Balfour was on parole for Attempted Murder and Carjacking convictions from 1999.  This in and of itself made it illegal for him to own or possess any firearms.  I assume that Mr. Balfour did not possess a valid FOID (Firearms Ownership Identification) card, the application for which goes through the Illinois State Police.  Oh wait, Hudson’s family lived in the City of Chicago where it is illegal to own or possess a hand gun.  The victims were shot with a hand gun.  One more thing, it is illegal in every state, county, town, village, city or whatever else you may call the jurisdiction that you live in to commit a murder.

It is also reported by the Chicago Tribune that Daley also said; “The mayor said police could not have prevented the killings because they occurred inside the home and allegedly in a domestic-related incident.”  So, if the bad guys get into my home where the police cannot see them, whether I know the criminal(s) or not, the police cannot do anything?  Let me make sure that I have this correct; if a crime is being committed inside my home, where the police cannot see, or I am the victim of a domestic dispute I am on my own to protect myself and my family to the best of my ability with the limited resources that the City says I may own legally?  Gee, thank you very much for the support Mr. Mayor.

The key points are this; (1) the Illinois Prison Review Board did not do its job when Balfour was arrested for cocaine possession back in June; (2) the Chicago Police did not do their job to “Protect and Serve”; (3) the Illinois gun legislation that is already on the books did not do their job; (4) the Cook County gun legislation that is already on the books did not do their job; (5) the City of Chicago hand gun bans did not do its job.

When Balfour was arrested in June for possession of cocaine the Illinois Prison Review Board should have thrown Balfour back into prison.  Jose Montes of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board reportedly said “He’s got some substantive alleged violations, including did he abide by the terms of substance-abuse counseling and did he abide by anger-manager counseling.”  HUH!!!  Ok so they did not necessarily catch him with a straw up his nose doing a line, but, I think that most people that are caught with a gram of cocaine are not just given a verbal reprimand and sent on their way.
On June 19, 2008 when the Chicago Police arrested Balfour for possession they should have booked him for a new crime.  That way he would have been arraigned and most likely denied bail, and would have been off of the streets.  Also, the comment by Mayor Daley saying that there was nothing that they, the police, could have done is erroneous!  The police could have spent more time getting guns off of the street or keeping better tabs on known violent criminals.

All of the legislation restricting or banning guns (points 3, 4, and 5) did nothing to stop a known criminal with no regard for the law from illegally obtaining a firearm!  So if the laws on the books now don’t stop criminals from illegally buying guns and shooting people; what do they plan to put into new legislation to keep them from getting new guns?  Nothing.  The simple point that they are criminals says everything.  These people obviously have no regard or respect for the law or they would not be breaking it so blatantly!

Our Founding Fathers included the only gun restrictions that should be enforced when they penned the Second Amendment.  Ok, you caught me.  I believe strongly in gun ownership.  If you would have put a gun in Hudson’s mothers’ or brothers’ hands the outcome would have been different.  If nothing else Julian King would more than likely still be alive. I also believe that Concealed Carry laws reduce crime.  The fallacy that if we let people walk around with guns our streets would revert back to the chaos of the “Old West” has not borne fruit in the cities and states that have already made it legal to carry a concealed weapon with a permit.  In fact it has produced the exact opposite results, crime has gone down considerably.

Mayor Daley made the point best when he said, “…police could not have prevented the killings because they occurred inside the home…”   Just remember “WHEN SECONDS COUNT THE POLICE ARE ONLY MINUTES AWAY!!!”

I find this absolutely dispicable.  I agree with what the Mayor of Broadview Heights, Sam Alai, said. “I have great respect for what Josh did. To say that he didn’t serve his constituents by risking his life in Iraq is absurd.”

Is it me or does Bob Belovich, Josh Mandel’s opponent, sound like an anti-semite?

Hmmm.  Where to begin with this one…

Many of you may remember, some of you may not.  A year or so ago, the mayor of San Diego, Jerry Sanders, cried on television while giving a press conference about his daughter being gay.  Top that off with Toni Atkins, Councilwoman for the third district, getting married to her partner, Jennifer LeSar, this past September.  It was understood that Scott Peters, the Democrat Council President, would vote for it.

I must give kudos to Brian Maienschein and Tony Young for voting against opposing Prop. 8.

Some of you may be asking where this notion of ‘equal rights’ came from?

It is derived from Western Marxist ideology.  The Western Marxist melded Marx economic theory with Freudian psychology to conclude that the numerically inferior in a democracy is oppressed by the numerically superior.  Who are numerically lesser in population within a democracy?  The ‘minority’ are.  Where do you think the term ‘minorty’ came from?

So are the minorities in our society?  Blacks, latinos, gays, even women were thought to be oppressed.  That is what lead to ‘womens’ lib’.  Thus, the notion that same sex marriage is a basic human right is just Marxism wrapped in the guise of freedom.

It seems that there are multiple excuses for why they are leaving like ‘going to DC’, ‘moving’ to another local neighborhood, or just ‘out of funds’.  Whatever the reason, we are happy to see them give up.  Cowards!

Their regular protests have fallen off the last six to seven weeks with no one showing up to the Wednesday rallies in front of the Marines Recruiting Station on Shattock Avenue.  Even World Can’t Wait has been too cowardly to show their faces.  The threat to burn the flag on a Marine veteran really put a damper on their protesting.

If either group picks up operations again in Berkeley, one thing is for sure.  The Marines MC will be there to stand up for our brother and sister Marines!

Do we expect arrogance?  complacency?  Fiscal responsibility?  Transparency?  Cronyism?

Better yet, what do you expect from the people who are elected to manage your child’s education?  Excellence, right?!

Is claiming that your school district is excellent when you are being audited by the state for land issues and stating that your school district ranks very high locally and federally, when out of the 1400+ best high schools in the nation, you are not even on the radar?

“Mr. Klein has called for change, and my question for him is, ‘Change what, Mr. Klein?’ ” Dalessandro began. “Change the fact that we are among the top-rated school districts in the county, state and nation?”

Hmmm.  Have we heard or seen behavior like this before?  Let me refresh your memory…’bailout’.

Beware this Halloween!

If Marxists (Obama) Ruled the US

This week marks the fifteen year anniversary of the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beruit, Lebanon. We remember, and honor our fallen brothers’ sacrifices. God bless them all. Chandler’s Watch would like to extend our condolences to the families. Semper Fi!

Behold the power of the people!  It is reported that this guy cried at the meeting.  I guess he finally realized that siding with racist, Marxist organizations like MALDEF and LULAC instead of your own constituents will get you fired!

Once more, all hyphenated naming and “minority” programs stem from the Western Marxist notion of the oppressed in a capitalist society.  This is where the term came from!

I encourage you to look up MALDEF and LULAC for yourself and know what they are about.  They place politics and commerce above country, thus they are traitors!

The Mayor, Thomas O’Neill said on his own blog about the Unity Rally that he attended in support of MALDEF, “As for the group calling themselves ‘the voice of the people’ they seem to have an unenlightened voice. Especially, when you consider that our community is trying to come together to bring about change for the better.”

SHENANDOAH — Mayor Thomas F. O’Neill submitted a letter of resignation to the borough council during Monday’s meeting.

The resignation, which was accepted 4 to 1 with Councilman Donald Segal voting against it, will take effect Jan. 1.

O’Neill said the primary reason for the resignation is the health and medical needs of his wife, which require the couple to relocate to a handicap-equipped residence.

O’Neill said secondary to his family priorities are the “obvious political conflicts that have led to my decision to spend my retirement in peace.”

O’Neill has come under pressure to resign by several borough residents who expressed their opinion at public meetings.

O’Neill is blamed by some for supporting illegal immigration in the borough, an issue that has been at the forefront in Shenandoah for some time and even more so following the July 14 death of Luis Eduardo Ramirez Zavala, an illegal immigrant from Mexico who died from wounds he suffered in a beating two days earlier. Some have alleged the beating was racially motivated and four teens have been charged in connection with the incident.

About 30 people, some non-residents, attended the September borough council meeting, again raising the issue of illegal immigrants in the community and accused O’Neill of supporting illegal immigrants after he spoke at a Unity Rally held to counter the Voice of the People USA rally Aug. 30.

At the September meeting, O’Neill said he supported borough council in its attempt to pass an illegal immigration ordinance.

Shenandoah advertised its ordinance in September 2007, but held off after Hazleton’s ordinance was challenged.

O’Neill will have completed three years as mayor in December. He served on borough council from 2002-2005.“

I have been faithful to my campaign promises by serving the citizens of the Borough of Shenandoah to the best of my ability by keeping their interests at the forefront of my decisions,” O’Neill read from the letter. “I have always put the people first. Unfortunately, during the past three years as mayor, my eyes have been opened to the realities of politics and it is a very disappointing picture.”

O’Neill and council have been at odds over a police contract.

During a February council meeting, O’Neill told council he believed some of the language in the contract violated a court order issued Dec. 27, 2007, and he warned the council members they would be in violation of the court order if they vote in favor of the contract.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin issued an injunction in December barring the council from approving any changes to its collective bargaining agreement with the borough police department that would interfere with O’Neill’s “right to have full charge and control” over that department. The council had planned to adopt those changes during a December meeting but no action was taken.

During Monday’s meeting, the contract was ratified with the appropriate changes and O’Neill said he agreed that the language was now in compliance with the court order.

Borough Solicitor Michael O’Pake said it is his understanding that the council will have 30 days from Jan. 1 to appoint someone to serve the last year of O’Neill’s term.

“In 2009, there will be an election occurring and whoever wins that election will become mayor in January 2010,” O’Pake said.

In other business, Joe Green, representing Save Shenandoah, asked the council about a crime watch.

Voice of the People USA facilitated a meeting Sept. 20 at the Anthony P. Damato American Legion Medal of Honor Post 792 to set up a crime watch. During the meeting, Miller agreed to take charge of setting up the next meeting and addressing the council.

Borough Manager Joe Palubinsky said he should set up a meeting with the mayor and police department to develop a policy for the crime watch.

Palubinsky said no one was against it as long as it is done in a reasonable fashion and proper procedure.

To date in the City of Chicago, where I remind you there are no major combat operations ongoing, I have seen reported that there have been 292 426 murders; as opposed to the 276 deaths that have been reported in Iraq, where combat operations continue.  What does this say about the city, the citizens of the city, or the cities government?  Personally I think that it speaks volumes.  It speaks volumes in more ways than just numbers.

Now not all of the deaths in Iraq have occurred because of combat.  All American Service members that have died in Iraq, regardless of what actually killed them are included in this stat.  So my comparison may not be very fair because if a Marine dies in a traffic accident while in Iraq his or her death is included in the 276 deaths.  I am only using the Chicago statistics for those that have been murdered in 2008.  No traffic accidents, no DUI’s, no police shootings, only murders.undefinedThe first thing that I like to look at is the mind set and mentality of the people that make up those populations.  There are extreme differences of mind set when you compare the two populations.  The Iraqi people have lived in fear of a brutal dictator and his sons, who were even worse than dad, for thirty plus years.  They know that you cannot depend on government to provide your safety.  They know that you cannot trust an all powerful government because an all powerful government can, and will, do whatever it takes to quell any dissent of policy.  We have all heard about the rape and torture rooms, and real torture went on in these rooms, that had been run by Sadam, Udai, and Qusai (may have spelled the names wrong, but I don’t care).

The Iraqi people had a true fear of big government.  They understood that when the government provides everything, they also control everything.  They understood that when people are not allowed to defend themselves they leave themselves vulnerable to attacks by that government as well as the criminal element.  The only groups that were allowed to possess fire arms were those groups that fell in line with the Sadam regime and were used to terrorize the population.  Unfortunately this is probably one of the areas that Baghdad and Chicago are the same, gun prohibition.

The mind set in Chicago is a little bit different.  They live under a benevolent dictator, Mayor Richard Daley and his cronies in the City Council and Cook County Board.  The basic principles are basically the same as the previous regime in Iraq.  Take away guns, give the poor the basics and keep them dependant, and ensure that those that reside under the shield of protection, or implied protection, know that it was my party that is providing it.  This way they can insure that they keep their seats of power in the next election.  The democratics (as far as I am concerned as long as they are called the democratic candidate, they must be democratics) in power have been as brilliant in their marketing as Microsoft has been, the Windows Operating System was not the best out there, but then again neither is welfare dependence!!  

The second thing to stop and think about is the attitude about voting.  The first elections held in Iraq were reported by the MSM (mainstream media) as a failure because voter turn out was so low.  The problem with this assessment is that even though there were threats of attacks on polling places made by terrorist groups.  What is the excuse made for Chicagoans?  The American Service members were on high alert.  The saddest part of this story is that even with credible terrorist threats voter turn out, by percentage, was much higher than it was in the City of Chicago.  Now I live in the Chicago area, and maybe the aliens came down and wiped my memory, but, I do not remember any terrorist threats to blow up polling places in Chicago.  But then again Chicago is the home of World Can’t Wait, ANSWR, Dick Durbin and Barak Obama should we expect any less?  Or maybe the better question is should we expect any more?  

It is a very sad day when those of us that have been taking our freedoms, and the responsibility to educate ourselves and vote, for granted to the point that it frequently reported that our youth feel as though their vote does not count.  It is even sadder that the MSM tends to focus on those youths that don’t love America.  Yes, I think that I can fairly make that last statement!  Stop and think about the way the 1st Amendment is enforced on most college campus’.  If they don’t agree with a conservative message they feel as though they have the Right to shut down that speech.  But God help the person that thinks they can do the exact same thing to the Left.

The saddest of all of this is the way our Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms is weakened everyday.  Mayor Richard Daley has been pushing for stricter gun restrictions here in Chicago although I don’t think that you can restrict guns any tighter than Chicago already does.  In the city it is illegal to own or possess a hand gun.  In Crook County, I mean Cook County, it is illegal to own or possess an assault weapon.  So how are all of these people, gangbangers, killing each other with handguns and assault weapons?  The answer to this question is simple.  If you are a criminal and are not worried about breaking the law you are not afraid to carry or possess any type of firearm in violation of any law that you may pass.

The citizens of Chicago and Crook County need to learn a lesson from the citizens of Baghdad.  If you place all of your security into the care of government, be it local, state, or federal, you will have absolutely no security

Hmmmm. Paying money to family companies…cute. I can see paying a family member if they provided an actual service to the campaign. But, overpaying family members who do nothing or their companies for the sake of losing campaign monies somewhere should be a crime.

I guess they expect us to not be paying attention, huh? Not on my watch.

Harry Sargeant!  Congratulations sir!

Mr. Sargeant owns a small company that delivers fuel for the Federal Government in Iraq (International Oil Trading Company).  Sargeant’s firm bidded on several government contracts to haul said fuel in Iraq.

Well, it appears that Mr. Sargeant’s bids were not the lowest bids that the government received, not even close.  But, nevertheless, Mr. Sargeant was awarded the contracts and billed the Federal Government $1.4 billion for four, that’s right, four delivery contracts.

His firm reported that they total profit was only $210 million.  Rep. Henry Waxman said that if the lowest bidder had been awarded the contracts, the taxpayers would have saved $180 million!  But then, this is Rep. Waxman we are hearing this from (keep that in mind).

Oh, did I mention that Mr. Sargeant has also raised over a half of a million dollars for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign? Judicial Watch reported also, “In August McCain returned $50,000 bundled by Sargeant, a college buddy and close friend of Florida Governor Charlie Crist, because the money was obtained illegally to skirt contribution limits.”

Things that make you go…hmmmmmm.

You know, we have talked at length about the failings of the VA here on this website/radio show.  In fact, not too long ago, we talked about the VA failing to notify 32,000 vets about Chantix meds, a med to help quit smoking, that could lead to an increase in suicidal thoughts.

The basic point is here that if you think that government run healthcare is the way to go….just look at the Veterans Administration Healthcare.  It is the ‘micro’ to Barak Obama’s ‘macro’ of socialized healthcare.

Besides, we already have socialized healthcare in this country if you think about it.  Just walk into any county hospital and see if they refuse to care for you.  How do you think all of the illegals get free healthcare right now?!By Rick Maze – Staff writer

The chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee says he completely understands why many veterans have lost confidence in the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“I am sure there are good people working there who are trying very hard and have the best of intentions, but they are bunglers,” said Rep. Bob Filner, D-Calif. “You lose confidence in these people by watching them.”

Filner, a frequent critic of VA, cited two examples: the department’s abandoned plans to use a private contractor to help launch the new GI Bill benefits program next year, and VA’s order Thursday to its 57 regional offices to stop shredding documents after veterans’ claims materials were found in piles of paper waiting to be destroyed.

“This is an insult to veterans,” Filner said.

Last week’s announcement that VA would implement the Post-9/11 GI Bill by next August using in-house resources came after department officials spent weeks telling lawmakers they could meet that deadline only with outside help, Filner said.

“After arguing for months and months that they could only do this with a contractor, you have to be concerned about whether VA can do it,” he said. “This is so important, and people are betting on it. VA better get this done.”

The Thursday announcement that VA had ordered a systemwide freeze on destroying documents came after auditors discovered claims and potentially irreplaceable paperwork tagged for shredding at four regional offices. Shredding is suspended until new paper management procedures are in place.

Filner said veterans have long complained about claims getting lost in VA bureaucracy.

“You are supposed to have a sense they may be slow, but at least they will eventually do the right thing,” he said.

Now, he said, the possibility that records vital to approving a claim might be destroyed fuels complaints that VA is trying to prevent claims from being awarded at all.

Jennifer Hughes is a former Marine that received an unsolicited cell phone call from an Obama campaign volunteer. Jennifer expressed to the volunteer that she would not be voting for Obama because of his stance on providing medical attention to infants born alive after a botched abortion. Four times, Jennifer told the volunteer, Barak Obama has voted in the Illinios State Senate to deny medical attention to infants. For this reason alone, Jennifer Hughes, could not in good conscience vote for Barak Obama.

23 hours later, Jennifer received a visit by the Secret Service. They claimed that some in the Obama campaign had made a report that she had threatened the life of Barak Obama. She explained to the officers exactly what she had said.

Jennifer appeared on the October 11th, 2008 show talk about her incident with the Secret Service.

This story was emailed to me by a good friend, Beverly Perlson founder of the Band of Mothers, and at first I was skeptical.  I really had a hard time believing that this was nothing but a partisan slur to help Mc Cain stay out of his own way.  This story has been reported in the media and appears to be true, and it should scare the crap out of you!!  I am adding a link to the news article at the end.

On Wednesday the 1st of October I received a call on my cell while in the car with my husband.  It was a woman who identified herself as calling from the Obama Campaign.  The phone # she called from was 903-798-6020 which lists as “Obama Volunteers of Texarkana” ( Texas ).

She asked if I was an Obama supporter to which I replied:

“No, I don’t support him, your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the State Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time.”  I hung up.

Thursday, October 2, I answered the front door to find the Secret Service.  Immediately I thought of the call and was furious that apparently you are not allowed to call Obama a Socialist without the Secret Service coming to investigate.  Instead, they asked me about the following comment, relayed by the Obama Volunteer of Texarkana who called me, unsolicited on my cell phone:”I will never support Obama and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor.”
My husband laughed and told them “No, she called him a socialist but she never said a word about him dying.”  I gave them my actual quote.  The woman asked insolently “Oh?  Well why would she make that up?”
I replied that I supposed she wasn’t happy about what I said about her candidate and the Agent said “That’s right, you were rude!”  The last time I checked being rude wasn’t a crime in America .

Luckily the big file they had gathered on me didn’t indicate mental instability or a past life of stalking/crime, however they did want to know how I felt about Obama.  That was my limit.  I told the Agent in no uncertain terms that my thoughts were not pertinent to their investigation, that this was America and the last time I checked I was allowed to think whatever I wanted without being questioned by the Secret Service.  In fact, even if I had said what she claimed, that isn’t a threat.  I told them (again) and my husband verified that the statement reported by Obama’s volunteer was a lie.  I asked them if there was a tape of the call and they said no.  I said, “So on the word of a ticked off Obama supporter you are on my porch with no other evidence and you want to question me about my THOUGHTS!?”
They informed me that there was no evidence she was an Obama supporter…someone calling from his campaign…are you kidding?

I was not allowed to know the name of my accuser at which point they informed me that it wasn’t like I was in a court of law, YET, as if this was a good thing.  I recognized this as a veiled threat.  I told them I would happily go to court since I did nothing wrong and at least then my accuser would have to face me rather than sending the thought police to my house.
They then said they were trying to do me a favor, that they came to me first before “embarrassing you by going to all your neighbors and family”, another threat?  I told them to be my guest and talk to whomever they wanted but they weren’t going to investigate my thoughts on my porch.

They also informed me that it would be easier if the next time a supporter calls me I just say “Yeah sure count me in, or just hang up” apparently so she won’t get her undies in a bundle and give them more useless trips.  Yeah right.  I said “Look, someone calls me unsolicited on my cell phone to ask me to support their candidate and I can’t tell them why I don’t?”  I said I was sorry they made a wasted trip but if they had a problem with some made up lie they needed to go talk to her about it because it wasn’t my fault they had to drive from Houston for nothing.

At one point I went inside and got a notepad to record their badge numbers and they refused to show me their badges.  They had done the quick flip when they arrived.  I asked for a card and the female Agent refused to give me one stating “You’re not going to get a card.”  The male Agent gave me a card and told me I could contact Houston with any questions.
The fact that the volunteer lied, the fact that the Secret Service came to my house to question me about my thoughts and feelings and threaten to embarrass me to my neighbors and go to court if I didn’t cooperate is not really the tragedy here.  Because that girl on the phone doesn’t have the pull to send the Secret Service to my home.  Someone high in the ranks of a campaign working for a man who may be the next President of the United States of America felt comfortable bringing the force of the Federal Government to bear on a private citizen on nothing but the word of a partisan volunteer.
I want to file a counter complaint that false charges were made, that a false report was given to a peace officer.  The Secret Service told me I cannot because they will protect the identity of the complainant.  I also want the file they have on me destroyed and I want to know that my phone isn’t tapped, et cetera.  I am hearing a lot of “Out of my Jurisdiction”.
Do I also hear jackboots?
